Just heard a "professor" make a similar point on the wireless. And what he more or less said was
"It's a waste of resources to fund r&d into renewables because innovators are innovative by definition so the money is better spent on child benefits".
So I suppose the point is politicians need certain resources to ply their trade. Natural ones like fossil fuels and tax on labour are two of the classics everyone thinks of straight away. But there are other political resources that are equally useful even though they are more subtle and one of those is....
stupidity.
You can tell stupidity is an important political resource by the lengths gone to cultivate its reserves. So it is not difficult to grasp why the English found the Ireland so useful they even imported loads of reproducing stupidity from that particularly rich reserve once it had succeeded in gaining national independence.
Do carry on.

Europe just had one the hottest recorded March since 1910. North America just had the hottest recorded March since 1910. Australia just had the hottest recorded March since 1910.
On a global scale it was hottest recorded March since 1910.
But of course this is all a Global wide conspiracy created by the British govt to make money, you see.
The Govt wants YOU to drive cheaper electric / hybrid cars, pay a lot less for fuel, pay NO road tax, and of course by driving eco friendly cars you DO NOT pay the congestion charge in London....
Hold on I'm lost now. Just realised that makes no sense whatsoever.
If the govt have been paying scientists from all over the world for well over 100 years to to falsify climate change research to generate money.... Then why offer so much cash savings on that? So they're even more out of pocket after paying off scientists all over the world.... I'll have to rethink all of that.
Well yeah back to the weather, it snowed yesterday, and there was a thunder and lightening storm...global warming is not happening though. It's fake. Fuck all that stuff about hotter air causing more moisture we knew about in school... It says WARMING on the tin...but it's snowed! I just don't get it all...I've got a GCSE and I know how to use Google to find extremely rare blogs that claim it's a hoax. The moon landing was a hoax too you know. Diana was killed by the Royal family, and there's a huge demand for amputee actors in Europe and the US to help cover up govt planned terrorist attacks.

The first sign from our point if view is colder temperatures due due to the destroying of a jet stream. Or something.

Interesting article about temperature readings in South America being altered to show a rise in temperatures when there had been nothing of the sort in reality.

Most of sub Saharan Africa? Really?
I have just come back from Malawi where I was speaking at a conference on development.
I spent two days visiting farmers in Salima district in the south, both large plantation owners and subsistence farmers.
There are many challenges facing farmers there but not one person mentioned climate change in all the time I was there.
So do please tell me where you get your information from.

Most of sub-Saharan Africa and the Middle East.
Oh and we've been having a fossil fuel-based industrial revolution for the last couple of centuries. Just in case that had escaped your attention as well.
